NYU graduate, Xackery Irving is feeling lucky to have cast Emily Fradenburgh as Jennider Stidger, in his psychological thriller Nothing Without You.
Irving's sophomore film won Best Feature in the Micro-Budget category at The Toronto Independent Film Festival and was just accepted to the highly competitive SFFF.
"From her audition to the final scene, Emily took control and became the character we'd created. Her stellar performance was one of the most exciting and rewarding aspects of making this film."
I asked Irving about the key to writing a great thriller. "A haunting score is essential. NYU grad
Victoria De le Vega was highly intuitive composing music that turns on just the right cues."
And the screenplay itself?
"I honed it through a series of drafts with my producer, Rick Santos. We watched a lot of films in the thriller genre and broke them down into outlines. That provided us with a really good road map."
